2009

  • ATI students field trip to Kampung Melangkap Ranau.

  • The Student Council organised field trip to Survival Isalnd (Pulau Tiga).

  • School of Tourism organised field trip to Sapi Island.

  • Diploma in Culinary Arts student organised "Chicken Glore" event as part of their Catering Management project.

2008

  • Conducted English Language course for Prison Wardens.

  • Organized Food and Beverage Training Skills for "Simpply Chocolate".

  • Organized donation drive and visit to Don Bosco Home.

  • ATI first Day at Tanjung Aru Beach.

  • Luncheon for Outward Bound Sabah hosted by our BOG Chairman Datuk Gabriel William.

  • Tourism students organized a trip to Miki's Survival Camp at Kg.Kiulu Nulu.

2007

  • Various events were conducted throughout the year.

  • Pastry Product show by pastry students.

  • Visit Malaysia Year event by Culinary students.

  • Dozen Dim sum variety by Diploma in Culinary Arts (PDA) students.

  • Love passions food event by HND Hotel Management students.

  • Dessert delight by HND Hotel Management students.

2000

  • ATI sealed MOU with United Kingdom (U.K) Universities.

  • Received representatives from Wigan and Leigh College, U.K.

  • MOU signing ceremony between ATI College and Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies.

  • Sabah Tourism Symposium organized by ATI College held at Pan Pacific Sutera Harbour Resort.

2002

  • Formation of Gastronomy Club for culinary students.

  • First blood donation drive.

  • Participated in Women's Day launching ceremony and won Best Booth Award.

  • Collaborated with University Malaysia Sabah on French Language.

  • Granted "Approved Training Provider" status from PSMB.

  • Obtained LAN approval for 3 new courses:- Diploma in Professional Culinary Arts, Diploma in Business & Hospitality Studies and Diploma in Business & Tourism Studies.

1998

  • First intake of Diploma students enrollment and orientation.

  • Visitation by our Chief Minster and the Minister of Northern Territory, Australia.

  • Hosted luncheon for Chief Minister of Northern Territory, Australia - Mr.Shane Stone.

  • The first batch of apprentice fir the HRDC program started in September with 68 students.

  • ATI registered as Institut Pengajian Tinggi Swasta (IPTS).

  • ATI hosted lunch for both former and present Chief Minister of Sabah.

1999

  • First intake for Higher national Diploma in Hospitality Management program.

  • First intake of basic tourist Cuide Course begins.

  • First HRDC Certificate and Contract Presentation Ceremony held at Promenade Hotel, Kota Kinabalu.

  • First publication of ATI Magazine " Expressions Impression".

  • Granted "Approved Training Provider" status from PSMB.

  • Hosted luncheon for the Chief Minister of Sabah and the Sabah's Cabinet Minister at ATI restaurant.

1997

  • First intake of students for Asian Tourism Insitute - sponsored by Tan Sri Bernard Dompok for various courses.

  • First MLVK Induction course for ATI Trainers.

  • Madam Irene Kong replaces Madam Maria Cheah as new Director of Studies and Registrar.

  • Mr.Maurice Wong Joins as Office Assistant.

  • Mr Steven Lo appointed as the new Director of Studies.

  • First ATI Convocation held at Berjaya Palace Hotel.

  • ATI organised first Sabah Hospitality Fiesta.

  • Asian Tourism Institute (ATI) was established on 31st December 1996.

2005

  • Organised 1st Open Day.

  • First intake for Certificate in Tourism Operations.

  • Hosted appreciation lunch for Jabatan Pembangunan Sumber Manusia (JPSM).

  • Organised luncheon for ADUN(s) Negeri Sabah and the Sabah Cabinet Minister.

  • Group of students from Singapore visit ATI College.

2006

  • Training on "Basic Dining Etiquette" was conducted for the Indonesian Consulate.

  • Merdeka Day Buffet organised by students from Diploma in Culinary Arts (DPA).

  • 35 English teachers from Kalimantan, Indonesia took up " English for in service educator" program in ATI College.

  • MAH (Sabah & Labuan Chapter) starts collaborating in organising the Sabah Hospitality Fiesta.

2004

  • Student Welfare Department was formed.

  • Research and Development Department of ATI involved in the 9th Malaysian Plan working sub committee for Human Resource Development in Tourism Sectors.

  • ATI presents research papers in Tourism Educator Association of Malasia (TEAM) conference held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

  • Japanese exchange students visit ATI College.

2003

  • MOU signing ceremony between ATI College, PSMB and JPSM at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Kota Kinabalu.

  • Collaboration with DCT International Hotel and Business Management School (Switzerland) offering final year Degree program for HND students.

  • Formation of Persatuan Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi Swasta Sabah (PIPTSS) with other IPTS(s) in Sabah.

  • Received approval to recruit Foreign students.

  • Commence offering Certificate in Culinary Arts and Certificate in Tourism Business Operations.

2000

  • ATI's first Alumni Night held at Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort (STAR),Kota Kinabalu.
